Thank you supporting Shandaken’s Summer Camp Lunch Program.
With your help we raised over $6,000 to support our kids, and we could not have done it without your support!
We still need a few volunteers to help deliver lunches to camp. If you are available to help between July 15 - Aug 15, please contact Vickie Starr HERE .
CAHP is pleased to announce a partnership with the Phoenicia Food Pantry UMC to provide free lunch for the participants of Shandaken’s Summer Recreation Program, along with light breakfast snacks so that every child can start the day off right.
Throughout years of her dedicated service to Shandaken’s Summer Recreation Program, director Manuela (Manny) Jean Pierre recognized the need to provide food in response to a growing number of campers who showed up on empty stomachs and without bagged lunch. This partnership between CAHP and the Pantry was created to help address this critical need for food access during these difficult times of high inflation, as well as to support the hardworking recreation team by alleviating an added logistical burden.
A portion of the program budget will also be devoted to providing fresh groceries to families who may not be able to attend the Pantry’s regular service hours (Thursdays, 10am-12pm).
This program has been funded by The Hudson Valley Foundation for Youth Health, Ulster Savings Bank, The Emerson Resort, Adams Fairacre Farms and many other friends and neighbors!
